What We Mean by Advocacy

Advocacy at Learning Lab LA is about being a voice, a shield, and a strategy.

  • Voice: We speak up when students can’t—or shouldn’t have to—navigate the system alone.
  • Shield: We protect families from bias, gatekeeping, and exclusion, using our knowledge of the law and educational best practices.
  • Strategy: We coach, train, and empower parents, students, educators, and professionals to build long-term systems of support.
We don’t just show up at IEP meetings or school interviews. We prepare, we educate, and we change outcomes.
