A Training that transformed an Organization
Client Problem
A non-profit wanted to provide their employees content about working with co-workers that have exceptionalities. The goal was to drive empathy and understanding among the employees.
Learning Lab Solution
Through an initial consultation with management, we realized there was an opportunity to create a training that would not only increase the empathy for employees with exceptionalities but also create a more successful working environment for all employees. Our educational and legal analysis had uncovered gaps in motivation, organization and compliance across the organization.
Our approach was a mixture of developing best practices and providing 1:1 programming and support for employees.
A few examples of our solutions include:
- Working with the leadership team to update best practices for communicating goals and performance feedback.
- Meeting directly with employees with exceptionalities to help them understand how to advocate for their needs with their co-workers and managers.
- Coaching managers of employees with exceptionalities to identify more effective communication and goal setting strategies.
Results
Employees had a better understanding of how to be successful in the organization and the managers felt like they had more tools to support their employees.
